Koh Samui

Ko Samui (or Koh Samui, also often locally shortened to Samui) is an island off the east coast of Thailand, about 700 km south of Bangkok and 80 km from the eastern coastline of Southern Thailand.
Spreading over a 247 km² area, Samui is the second-largest island in Thailand and the largest island in the Chumphon Archipelago. It is an island of natural beauty, with palm-fringed shoreline and coconut, turquoise water beach, virgin rainforests, fascinating sunrise and sunset… Until the late 20th century, Samui was still an isolated, self-sufficient area, having very little connection with the mainland. That’s why the island nowadays still can remain its pristine attractions and become one of the best places for tourists who want to escape from modern city life. Samui is now the second-most popular place as an island destination in Thailand (after Phuket).

Tourists visiting Samui can spend the days dozing in a hammock, tasting Thai’s world-class cuisine, chasing the mesmerized sunset or get a Thai massage in an exclusive spa… Every Thai taste, you can find them all in Samui.

Climate, best time to visit
Ko Samui has a tropical savanna climate. The climate is warm and humid for most of the year. The heaviest precipitation is typically in between October and November.
The best time to visit Samui is from December to the next February, which is the dry season. The weather is comfortable, and there is almost no rain. But it is also the high season, so the island would be more crowded than usual.
