Doi Suthep

Doi Suthep is the western peak of Chiang Mai province, about 15 km from the city center of Chiang Mai. This place is famous for the 600-year-old Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep temple located on the top of a hill and is famous for being the holiest in Thailand.

Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep is located at an altitude of 1676m, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Chiang Mai from above and watch the wonderful sunrise. To get to the temple, you can take the cable car or climb 309 stairs, this temple has bold traditional architecture in Northern Thailand with a golden bell tower, where the Buddha's thousand-year-old relics are located. Inside the temple are many Buddha statues placed on the altars, and the wall surrounding the pagoda is decorated with exquisite content depicting the life of the Buddha.

Bhubing Palace or the Summer Palace of the Thai Royal Family located on Doi Suthep Hill is also a great place to visit with a lot of precious flowers grown here, giving visitors relaxation, comfort and peace.
In addition, there is an impressive spot to explore named Huay Kaew Waterfall, a beautiful waterfall located in the middle of majestic nature, along the way to the top of Suthep hill.

From the center of Chiang Mai, Doi Suthep can be reached by private car or taxi easily, or in case you like to experience a bit of adventure, you can travel by motorbike.
You can visit Doi Suthep all year round, but the best time is in the dry season when the climate is cool and less rainy, that is from November to February next year.
