Quang Ninh

Quang Ninh, with a total area of more than 6,000 km2, is one of the largest provinces in the Northeastern coastline of Vietnam. There are 21 ethnic groups living there include the Viet (Kinh), Dao, Tay, San Diu, San Chi and Hoa. There are 1969 islands among 2000 island of Quang Ninh province located in Ha Long Bay and 989 of those islands were named basing on their shape, location or myth. Tourists visit Ha Long Bay will absolutely visit such famous caves as Thien Cung (Heavenly Palace) cave, Dau Go (Wood Tip) grotto, Sung Sot (Surprise) cave and Trinh Nu (Virgin) grotto. Situated in Thuong Yen Commune (Uong Bi City, Quang Ninh Province), Yen Tu is a high mountain of the Dong Trieu Mountain chain in the Northeastern Vietnam which has been the center of Buddhism since King Tran Nhan Tong abdicated his throne and mewed, established a unique Buddhist lineage in Vietnam. There are many historical relics preserved of Buddhism, which made this place become a famous spiritual tourist site in Quang Ninh. Thanks for the express highway, Quang Ninh can be easily reached by car from some cities including Hanoi, Hai Phong, Bac Giang, Lang Son… Additionally, you can choose to take direct flights to Van Don airport (50 km from Halong City) from Ho Chi Minh City, Danang, Taoyuan (Taiwan), Huangtian (China).
