Bac Kan

Belonging to the Northeastern mountainous area of Vietnam, Bac Kan once has been the capital of the liberated zone of the Viet Minh during the French – Viet Minh War from 1946 to 1954, is a potential tourism province due to its richness of natural resources, minerals, and culture ethnic identity and home to 7 ethnic minorities including Tay, Nung, King, Dao, Mong, Hoa, and San Chay. There are 2 main seasons in Bac Kan including the dry season lasting from April to October and the rainy season from November to December. The annual average temperature is 25oC and it makes the weather cool all-around the year. If you are planning a trip to Bac Kan and you care much about the weather condition, it would be better if you can consider the high possibility of rain and high humidity in some months such as March, April, and August.

Bac Kan is just around 150 kilometers from Hanoi and thanks to the expressway of Hanoi – Cho Moi, it now takes only 2 hours to get to this mountainous province. Furthermore, it can also be connected from other provinces including Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Cao Bang, and Tuyen Quang. Among them, the most used and convenient route for those who start the journey from Hanoi is via Thai Nguyen. On the other hand, there are 2 routes to reach Bac Kan from Cao Bang including road 3 which is very beautiful and in quite good conditions, and the one via Na Phac offers plenty of photograph opportunities of the breathtaking mountains areas.
