KIEN GIANG - The American travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler has honored Phu Quoc Island as one of the top-rated islands in 2023, based on reader votes.
On October 3rd, Condé Nast Traveler announced the Readers’ Choice Awards 2023, where Phu Quoc was recognized in the category of 'Best Islands of 2023.' This marks the second consecutive year that Phu Quoc, representing Vietnam, has received this prestigious recognition. The list is not ranked globally but divided into regions such as Europe, Asia, Central and South America, and North America.
Among the top 10 Asian islands, Phu Quoc secured the 8th position with a score of 88.89, surpassing Japan's Okinawa & Ryukyu Islands and the Philippines' Siargao. The scores were determined by global readers and travel experts, based on their satisfaction with the destination. Bali, Indonesia, topped the list in Asia with a score of 91.08.
Phu Quoc, the largest island in Vietnam, is renowned for its pristine beaches, fine white sand, serene natural surroundings, and crystal-clear waters. In 2015, Condé Nast Traveler readers also voted Phu Quoc's Bai Sao beach as one of the top 10 most tranquil and secluded beaches globally, alongside famous beaches in Fiji and the Maldives.
Beyond its natural beauty, Phu Quoc is considered one of the most appealing destinations in Vietnam, offering a wide range of exciting experiences and diverse accommodation options, from budget to luxury.
Many global travel experts also recognize Phu Quoc as a rising star on the world tourism map, thanks to its evolving and increasingly enticing attractions and entertainment options. One of the highlights is the newly introduced Sunset Town on the southern part of the island, described by South Korean news agency Yonhap as a "unique experience of witnessing Mediterranean landscapes in a tropical paradise."
Another exciting experience in Phu Quoc is the ride on the world's longest cable car system to Hon Thom Island or enjoying the top-notch multimedia show, Kiss The Stars, in Asia. For those seeking authentic local experiences, visitors can explore pepper farms, pearl cultivation centers, the Phu Quoc National Park where virgin forests meet the sea, or the fishing village of Ham Ninh. Additionally, the island offers a distinctive culinary experience, with dishes like 'bun quay' and highly regarded fish sauce, considered the best in Vietnam.
Phu Quoc also boasts numerous 5-star resorts, earning it the title of the 'Maldives of Vietnam,' as bestowed by Yonhap News Agency.
The Readers' Choice Awards is an annual accolade that has been presented for the past 26 years, making it one of the world's most reputable events in the tourism industry.
