Hoi An, Vietnam, has achieved global acclaim once again, securing the 4th spot on Travel & Leisure's prestigious list of the World's Best Cities for 2024. This recognition marks Hoi An as Vietnam's sole representative in the coveted categories of the world and Asia's most beautiful cities.
According to the annual World's Best Awards announced by the American travel magazine in July, Hoi An garnered an impressive score of 90.67 out of 100. This places it just behind San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, Udaipur in India, and Kyoto in Japan.
In the list of Asia's top 25 most beautiful cities, Hoi An claimed the 3rd position, trailing only cities from India and Japan.
International tourists and travel experts express no surprise at Hoi An's inclusion, citing its UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ancient Town and its reputation as a culinary haven offering delicacies like Cao Lau and Banh Mi. The city is also celebrated for its rich historical significance, attracting history enthusiasts alike.
Conveniently located 30 km from Da Nang International Airport, Hoi An continues to be easily accessible for visitors keen on exploring its charms.
The World's Best Awards aim to honor exceptional destinations, hotels, airlines, and services in the travel industry. This year, the awards garnered over 700,000 votes, evaluating cities based on criteria such as scenic beauty, cultural richness, food, local hospitality, shopping, and overall value to travelers.
Considered a guidebook for travelers seeking outstanding service and memorable experiences, these awards spotlight destinations that excel in meeting the needs of global adventurers.
Earlier, Phu Quoc Island made its mark in Travel & Leisure's list of the 25 Best Islands in the World. Additionally, Alma Resort in Vietnam secured the 9th position in the list of the World's Top 10 Hotels.
With such accolades, Vietnam continues to shine as a top destination for travelers seeking both natural beauty and exceptional hospitality in Southeast Asia.
