About the World Travel Awards (WTA)
Established in 1993 and often called the “Oscars of the travel industry,” the WTA recognizes excellence across various sectors such as destinations, airlines, hotels, resorts, and tour operators. The awards are held annually and span three levels: global (announced at year-end), regional, and national.
Voting is conducted online and includes participation from tourists, travel experts, and industry leaders. Votes from professionals in the travel sector are weighted more heavily, with one expert vote equal to two regular votes.
This year marks the 31st edition of the World Travel Awards, solidifying its reputation as a global benchmark for travel excellence.
