Nguyen Hue walking street is one of the main streets in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly named Saigon is the second largest city in Vietnam. Under the name Saigon, it was the capital of the French colony of Cochin-china and later of the independent state of South Vietnam from 1955 to 1975. In 1976, Saigon merged with the surrounding Gia Dinh Province and was officially renamed Ho chi Minh city.

On November 15, the first 3D models of Nguyen Hue Flower Street for the new year of Canh Ty 2020 were introduced by the organizers. With the theme of "Ho Chi Minh City - Firmly moving forward", Nguyen Hue Flower Street for the new year of Canh Ty 2020 is designed into three main segments, spanning nearly 700 meters on Nguyen Hue walking street, starting right behind the art fountain to Ton Duc Thang intersection. The flower street will be open from 7pm on January 22 and cleaned up at 9pm on January 28, 2020 (ie, from 28th December to 4th January in lunar calendar). Construction period will take place from 8 to 22 January 2020.

The "Spring picture" is inspired by global climate change and the movement as whirlwinds of nature. The roof shape is designed to be a swirling strip which is the symbol for the diversity of the environment, combined with the flower bands on the ground and shapes of the water tower, in order to present the intersection between nature and earth. The flower pillar with motion will bring a scene of extremely interesting shades and layers for the viewers.
According to Truong Tan Son, the Deputy Head of the organizing committee, Nguyen Hue Flower Street in 2020 is designed based on a harmonious combination of natural elements with environmentally friendly materials.
In addition, the designers did not forget the tradition and the traditional Tet cultural identity with modern architecture and positive social meaning.
Because of the Year of the Rat, the flower street mascot will be the rat inspired by Dong Ho folk painting - Rat’s wedding. Accordingly, the scene of the open gate recreates the image of stylized friendly and modern rats, putting together to welcome the new year.
There are nearly 130 mascots of Canh Ty year shaped uniquely and put along the Nguyen Hue street.
Along with the Flower Street event, the spring atmosphere will cover the street with auxiliary activities such as decorating the streets of Tet, performing Doorshows in Nguyen Hue walking street and nearby routes.

The combination of natural elements with modern architecture and environment-friendly materials in the cluster of five fruits tray in this segment expresses the wish of a full and happy new year of Canh Ty.

The flower street will be closed with a grand entrance gate inspired by the idea of Kinetic flower movement 5 meters in diameter made up of more than 60 details. The flower symbolizes the sustainable development of Ho Chi Minh City now and moving forward in the future. "Movement even when standing still" technology factor is used in the image of Kinetic flower with a special structure and movable ability promises to be a unique and beautiful highlight.
