Pindaya cave

Pindaya is a town located in western Shan State, where Pindaya Cave is famous as a cave pagoda with thousands of Buddha statues, is a destination not to be missed when visiting Myanmar. From Heho Airport, it takes about 45 minutes by car to Pindaya, and about 2 hours from Pindaya to Inle Lake.

From the outside, Pindaya cave has the shape of a temple, along the two sides of the road to the temple are rows of cool hundred-year-old banyan trees. To enter the temple, visitors can follow the stairs or take the elevator, this is a special feature that can be found at Pindaya cave temple.

Pindaya cave temple is pided into 2 areas, the entire floor of the cave is paved with lumpy glazed tiles, the corridors and paths are carpeted, visitors enter the temple must take off their sandals and walk barefoot. Insite the temple, there is a stalactite connecting from the ceiling to the ground, and there are more than 8000 Buddha statues here, the Buddha statues are merited by visitors from many parts of the world with many sizes and designs.

The special thing here is that there is only one Shakyamuni statue, the statues are arranged from the cave to the ceiling very solemnly, the people here do not burn incense in the temple, the only offering is flower.

Pindaya has a dry season from December to March next year, this is the best time to visit this cave temples. You can also come here in other months of the year however, you should avoid October because of the most rainy days
