Nam Ha National Protected Area

 

The park has been designated and classified as a world natural heritage by UNESCO in 1993. With an area of 2,224 square km stretching from the Chinese border to the middle of Namtha province, the Nam Ha National Park’s landscape is very diverse, characterized by the tropical forest with big old trees, a range of mountains, some grassland and many large rivers, streams and waterfalls.

Besides the beauty of the landscape, the park is a broad suite of habitats for wildlife in Laos. More than 30 mammal and 300 bird species inhabit here, The Nam Ha is said to be one of Laos’s largest protected areas.
