Koh Rong

Located in the Gulf of Thailand and just off the coast of Sihanoukville, Koh Rong, a second-largest-sized paradise island in Cambodia is famous for its serene beauty, white sandy beaches, and crystal-clear waters.

Koh Rong owns the beautiful coastline stretching on a total length of nearly 43 kilometers, of which many parts remain little developed. The infrastructure on the island are basic, so it offers tourist affordable prices for both accommodation and food. The best beaches at Koh Rong are Koh Touch, Sok San, and Long Set. Among them, Koh Touch is the most popular and developed one.

To get around Koh Rong, you can rent a boat taxi or motorbike taxi to reach several remote parts of the island. There is no airport in Koh Rong and the only way to access the island is by a 45-90 minutes’ ferry starting from Sihanoukville Ferry Terminal. The airport in Sihanoukville connects flights with Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. When departing Koh Rong for a flight in Sihanoukville, you should consider spending extra time for transfer on board as it depends on the sea conditions and the ferry’s mechanical operation.

The tropical climate of Koh Rong island is divided into 2 seasons including the dry season from late November to May and the wet season from June to early November. The best time to visit Koh Rong is the dry season with beautiful sunny days and low humidity.
