Take an early visit to the famed Wat Pho to observe the serene morning chanting ritual of the monks, an incredible start for the day. This temple is considered highest among the six first-class Royal temples in Thailand, housing the largest collection of Buddha images in the country and is home to the famous 46 m long reclining Buddha.

Nearby is the Wat Phra Kaew, popularly known as the Temple of Emerald Buddha, which houses the mysterious Buddha image that is meticulously carved from a single block of jade and deeply venerated as the country's palladium.
This afternoon, hop on a long-tail boat, cruise down the Chao Praya River and travel like Indiana Jones style along the winding ‘khlongs’ (canals) of Thonburi, another world away from the chaotic streets of the capital, passing lush green dotted with gilded temples on both banks, wooden stilts houses right on water, charming local markets and vendor boats serving up Thai delicacies. Life along these ‘khlongs’ has long been an inseparable part of the Thai lifestyle and has hardly changed over the years.
