Situated next to Psar Chaa (Old Market), Pub Street (officially named Street 8), has become the nightlife center of Siem Reap. The area is a paradise of Khmer to Western restaurants, street food stalls, nightclubs, bars, night market (just across the road from Pub Street), and anything else that you could expect.

Every day, the street is opened from 17h00 to 24h00, but some places are opened 24/7.

• Eating: Here you can enjoy your dinner. If you are looking for a cozy family dinner, Cambodian cuisine is a good choice. In Pub Street, you can find a restaurant that suits your expectation. Some places that you can refer to The Red Piano – this corner of Pub street was said to be Angelina Jolie’s favorite place during the filming of Tomb Raider and if she were in town, you could often see her in here. Or you can try to have dinner with the Western, Asia, and Khmer menu at Le Tigre de Papier, enjoy live music at The Banana Leaf.

If you don’t want to eat in a restaurant, you’ll also see many food carts and takeaway stalls here. There are fried scorpions and spiders, kebabs, fried ice cream, fruit shake stalls, noodles, and too many things so that you can try. Take a walk around Pub Street and the surrounding areas, surely you’ll find something you like.

• Drinking & dancing: In the evening, the music becomes louder, and the party spills into the street. Enjoying some cheap drinks, banging tunes and lots of fun is not a bad choice. You can drink and dance the night away, most of the action tends to feature around the area with the Angkor What? Bar and the Temple Bar.

If you would like something quieter, then try one of the smaller bars in the lanes such as Silk Garden Bar, Picasso, and the Yellow Sub. Ms. Wong Cocktail bar…

On Pub Street, you can also enjoy many street performances by artists come from various places. There are some places to enter the live Apsara dance shows and listen to traditional Khmer music.

• Fish Massage: after a day exploring Angkor Wat, getting a fish massage will help you feel relax. You can find the “fish massage” signs in many places on Pub Street. The massage course is performed with glass tanks with seats around them and full of fish of various sizes.

These fishes will help remove the dead skin from your feet. It’s not just a gimmick, it works, and your feet will feel better after the treatment.

• Shopping: Mostly, you’ll see souvenir shops such as ornaments, scarves, sculptures, clothes paintings and smaller items. A small note for you if you want to buy something in the small market here: you can pick up a real bargain but you will need to haggle the price. And it will often be able to negotiate a good discount.

Pub street is located in the center of Siem Reap town, so you can get there easily. If you stay at a hotel in town, you… Or it’s better that you just say to the receptionist of your hotel/ guest house or anyone “pub street”, they will show you the best directions to Pub Street.

You can take a tuk-tuk or taxi and the tuk-tuk drivers all know how to get to Pub Street. However, please remember to note the name of your hotel because there are so many hotels with very similar names. When you want to come back, please give the driver your hotel address exactly or if possible, you should take a business card from your hotel so you can show it to your driver.
