When in Phnom Penh, you can go for shopping at Phnom Penh centre market, Night market, Olympic market or Russian market. Each of them has special character and full of stuff to see and buy.

Shopping in Siam Reap

Being a tourist hub, Siam Reap offers great shopping opportunities. From cheap souvenirs to expensive gems and jewellery, and everything in between, you can find just about whatever you want here. Khmer handicraft items exist in large quantities, and there are places that sell “antiques”. While some things may be actual old antiques, one should be careful when purchasing such items.

Some place recommended in town included: Old Market (Phsar Chas) locates downtown near the Siem Reap River, Central Market (Phsar Kandal) on Sivatha Blvd, huge market Phsar Leu east of town on the highway 6, Angkor Night Market off the Sivatha Blvd. near town center, Noon Night Market on same street to Angkor Night Market.

Shopping in Battambang

Battambang may not have a night life but it does boast interesting shopping opportunities. At the souvenir market you can buy woodcarvings from Battambang, marble sculptures from Pursat Province, and sapphires from Pailin.

Raw rubies and sapphires from near the Thai border are brought to Battambang to be cut and polished then graded so there are some bargains to be had but be careful as gem scams are extremely frequent when the dealer perceives inexperienced and wet-behind-the-ear buyers.

Shopping in Sihanoukville

This is not a famous shopping place like Siem Reap or Phnom Penh, but there are also a variety of products for you to choose such as clothing, shoes, accessories, decorations, paintings, handmade items, so on.

You can find anything at the Central Market in the middle of town. Along the main street or the Beach Road, there are many shops specializing in jewelry, bags and beachwear. If being a fan of shopping, visitors don’t not miss the Phsar Leu Market (also known as the upper market), which is open from morning until evening.
