Durian fruit rotation

The durian statue located in the centre of Kampot not only creates a highlight for the key traffic circle but is also one of the landmarks that make up this locality. Kep Beach

From the centre of Kampot, it takes about half an hour to get to Kep City. Here there is an attractive beach with white sand, gently sloping to the clear blue water of the sea. You can choose resorts, hotels or motels near the sea to stay and then enjoy beach activities and the local cuisine. This beach is often crowded with tourists on weekends. The beach is full of street vendors with signature dishes on carts.

Teuk Chhou Stream

About 15 km from the centre of Kampot, Teuk Chhou (flowing water) stream is one of the favourite destinations of many tourists. The stream is wide and elongated, with many thatched huts and hammocks, where you can rest and immerse yourself in the cool water, in the midst of unspoiled nature.

Mount Bokor

Bokor Mountain (Ta Lon mountain) is located about 10 km southwest of Kampot centre. The famous mountain range is long with many sacred and mysterious stories. The highest peak of the mountain is 1,090 m above sea level. The road to the top of Ta Lon is beautiful, with many twists and turns in the fog. The weather here is cool and fresh.

According to local people, since 1917, the French built on Bokor mountain structures such as churches, pagodas and hotels. Coming here, you can stay at high-class hotels and  visit the old Bokor Palace Hotel built by the French. In addition, for those interested in the history, you can visit the abandoned buildings on the mountain. There are temples and idols, for those who want to worship for spiritual purposes.

Delicious foods in Kampot

Bok-lo-hong

This is a typical salad in Cambodia, especially in Kampot with ingredients including papaya, garlic, fresh chili, tamarind powder, sugar, fish sauce, cowpea, tomato, lemon, fish sauce and roasted peanuts; add three salts for sour, spicy, salty, sweet, harmonious taste. This dish is sold by locals on traditional trolleys.

Burnt chicken

Coming to Kampot, you must definitely eat burnt chicken dishes prepared by the locals. This chicken dish is loved by tourists from near and far thanks to its beautiful, crispy golden skin, sweet and tender meat and characteristic flavour served with stir-fried morning glory, with green tomatoes dipped in sweet and sour sauce.

Green Crab

This type of seafood is very abundant in Kep Sea and is loved by tourists thanks to the firmness and sweetness of the meat. You can go to the sea to buy fresh green crabs that have just been caught, then ask the locals to cook as you like, but the best dish is still steamed crab.

Durian

According to local people, although Kampot durian is not appreciated for its appearance, it compensates with its attractive internal quality, with its rich, fatty flavour, with large flesh, that will easily make a deep impression on the consumer. Due to natural farming methods, without the use of chemical spraying,  the output of Kampot durian is not high.  Providing small quantities, just enough for local people and tourists who love this fruit.
