03 April 2025
Starting May 1, 2025, Thailand is introducing a new entry requirement for international travelers. Instead of filling out the old TM6 paper arrival card, all visitors must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before arriving. This update aims to make immigration faster, smoother, and more efficient.
What is the TDAC?
The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is a mandatory online form that all foreign visitors must complete within 72 hours before arrival. It replaces the paper-based TM6 form, helping to streamline border control.
Who Needs to Fill It Out?
-
Required for all international travelers, whether they have a visa or not.
-
Exceptions:
-
Transit passengers who do not pass through Thai immigration.
-
Border pass holders using designated land crossings.

How to Apply for the TDAC – Step-by-Step Guide
Filling out the TDAC is simple. Follow these steps to complete the process:
-
Go to the official website – Visit tdac.immigration.go.th and select "Arrival Card."
-
Enter personal details – Provide your name, passport information, nationality, and visa number (if applicable).
-
Provide travel information – Fill in your expected arrival date, mode of transport, purpose of visit, and accommodation details.
-
Complete the health declaration – List countries visited in the last 14 days, as required by Thailand’s health authorities.
-
Review and confirm – Double-check all details before submitting the form.
-
Enter a valid email – Your TDAC will be sent as a PDF file to your email.
-
Download and save – Keep a digital copy or print it out to present to immigration officers upon arrival.
Why Is Thailand Going Digital?
Thailand’s move to a digital arrival card is part of its effort to improve efficiency and security at entry points. Key benefits include:
-
Faster immigration processing – Reducing wait times for travelers.
-
Better data management – Helping authorities track arrivals more effectively.
-
Enhanced health monitoring – Supporting post-pandemic safety measures.
-
Eco-friendly approach – Reducing paper waste and supporting sustainability.
Possible Changes to Visa-Free Stays
In addition to introducing the TDAC, Thailand is considering a reduction in visa-free stays for travelers from 93 countries. Currently, visitors can stay up to 60 days without a visa, but this may be shortened to 30 days. The proposal is still under review.
Thailand Joins the Digital Trend
Several countries, including Cambodia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Cuba, have already implemented digital immigration forms. Thailand’s transition to the TDAC aligns with global trends, making travel more seamless for international visitors.
The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is a major step toward a paperless and more efficient immigration process. Travelers arriving after May 1, 2025, should ensure they complete the TDAC in advance to avoid delays.
