Transfer to Kanchanaburi

Although located on the outskirts of Bangkok, the road is quite convenient and airy. From Bangkok, there are many options for transportation such as taking the train, bus, hire a private car, or a Day Tour package (with a 1-day tour). Particularly for the train, we do not recommend it because it is not convenient for tourists.

• Bus: There are daily buses from Khaosan Road to Kanchanaburi which take about 2 hours driving. Each ride is about 10 minutes away so you don't need to rush early to catch it!
• Private car rental: If you travel with a group or just your family, renting a private car is the most perfect choice as you can control the time and wanted destinations to be visited as well.
• Train: Riding a train on the well-known historic construction Death Railway is an interesting experience that you should try once arriving in Kanchanaburi.

Places to visit in Kanchanaburi

River Kwai and River Kwai Bridge

The most famous river in Kanchanaburi is definitely Kwai with blue river water, peaceful atmosphere, which is far different from the noisy atmosphere in the capital. The two banks of the river are rows of trees and small houses with ancient iron roofs. From the upstream of the river to Kanchanaburi, a bridge that looks normal but has become a national historical landmark. It is famous for a film of the same name adapted from the novel of the French writer Pierre Boulle, winning 7 Oscars in 1957. At first, the bridge did not cross the River Kwai but the Mae Klong River. However, after the film became world-famous, Thailand decided to rename the river, and it has become "River Kwai Bridge" till now. You can enjoy a cruise on the Kwai Yai River driven by the locals.

Burma Railway – Death Railway

If traveling to Kanchanaburi, it is a regret if not visiting the well-known historical construction Burma Railway (Death Railway). Built by Japan from the time of World War II, this legendary railway route through the jungle and hills creates a very majestic scenery.

Erawan National Park
