Sa-bai-dee! Welcome to Luang Prabang the ancient capital of Laos!
The UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos, maybe in Indochina.
This afternoon we have a bicycle/green tuk tuk tour to sightseeing the Luang Prabang ancient town with visits to some featured sights such as the most photographed Wat Xieng Thong with its several roofs sweeping low to the ground, the former Royal Palace today is the National Museum that houses rare religious and cultural artefacts.
Then visit Wat Mai built in 1796, the five-tiered roof of the wooden Sim (chapel) epitomizes the graceful Luang Prabang architectural style.
In the evening you climb up to the top of Phousi Mountain for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. Night Market, where you can find the lovely collection and handmade textile by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.

Get up early to join and enjoy the special scene of Luang Prabang: Morning alms giving. You may love to sit along with locals by the road side and offer food to monks who are in yellow robe walking slowly in line with bowls in their hand.
Breakfast at the hotel and meet with our chef for a tour to colorful and vibrant Phosy Market where we will make our guided food selections as well as enjoying the sightseeing of local style and products.
Get to the restaurant where we will prepare the ingredients and enjoy the hand-on cooking in the garden kitchen with the help of our professional chef.
We will have a full explanation about the differences of South East Asian cuisines and get a printed recipe providing us with the possibility to cook Lao food at home.
Enjoy our wonderful lunch then after a tea break we will take a drive to the Kuang Si waterfall, a jade of Luang Prabang area. Along the way we will make stop to visit to local hill tribe villages of Hmong and Khmu to learn more about Laos culture colors and diversity.
At the Kuang Si Waterfall Park, we will have a visit to the Kuang Si Bear Rescue Sanctuary where you can find great information about Asian sun and moon bears and the Free the Bears Protection Program.
Enjoy your time exploring and swimming in crystal clear water.
Back to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon and evening is at your leisure.

After breakfast, get to the pier and board a cruise upstream of the Mekong River along a beautiful landscapes of the tranquil countryside to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves which is crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes, a holy place for Laos pilgrims.
Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the distillation of local rice wine.
Returning to Luang Prabang town and this afternoon, we will have a chance for one hour relaxing traditional Lao oil massage.
Remainder of the day is at your leisure to wander around the old quarter of Luang Prabang, sightseeing the colonial area with beautiful colonial architecture.

Summary of inclusions
After breakfast, travel out of Luang Prabang to an Elephant Camp where we have chance to see and play with giant and beautiful animals.
Feed the elephants, contact with them and learn something interesting about these giant animals and how they play their role in the Laos history and culture.
Later, join your mahout on the back of one of elephants and travel through the tropical woods.
The ride is scenic, tranquil, relaxing and requires no specific fitness.
After lunch, return to Luang Prabang and on the way back, stop in Ban Xang Khong to see their amazing locally made silk weavings as well as mulberry paper items.
The remainder of the day is free at your leisure to explore Luang Prabang at your own pace.

Tour price: Travel Authentic Asia focus on quality and affordable package prices with the best value. The price is based on number of traveler taking the trip, the accommodation category you wish to stay, the mode of transportation, meals provided….
Payment: A deposit of 30% of total price is needed to initiate the tour booking after the itinerary is finalized. The balance for the trip is due 15 days prior to your arrival.
Arrival and departure flights: You are advised to make your own booking for international flights from/back your home country. This allows you to determine better the travel time frame, budget and to deal with insurance claim when needed. Travel Authentic Asia team will base on your flight schedule to work out the best itinerary for you or/and to modify the itinerary to get it matches.
Travel documents: You must carry a valid passport and have obtained all of the appropriate visas, permits and certificates for the countries in which you will visit during your trip.
